ANTHROPOID director and cinematographer Sean Ellis recently shared some behind-the-scenes photography along with his point-of-view for shooting historical dramas:
I just don’t think period dramas work very well when they’re shot on the waxy, clean, sort of digital format. There’s too much detail, and it doesn’t feel real to me. Film is a little bit more forgiving and has a little bit more soul in it; there’s something beautiful in the grain.
